Cambodia shortens quarantine time for fully vaccinated inbound travelers

Oct. 17 (Xinhua)-- The Cambodian government has decided to reduce the counterblockade period for completely vaccinated inbound trippers after the maturity of its population was vaccinated against the COVID-19, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement released on Saturday. 

 

 Foreign investors, specialized experts, diplomats, and cooperation design directors and fellow, as well as Cambodian officers returning from overseas operations, will be needed to suffer a three-day counterblockade only, while general inbound passengers, both Cambodians, and nonnatives, will be quarantined for seven days, the statement said. 

 Still, the trippers who haven't entered the COVID-19 vaccine or have not been completely vaccinated will be needed to go into a full 14- day counterblockade, it said. 

 

 The statement added that foreign trippers still need to present a medical instrument for a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their appearance in Cambodia, and they must carry a vaccination card or instrument indicating their full vaccination status and vaccination date. 

 Also, they must have evidence of accommodation during the counterblockade period and need to hold a COVID-19 insurance policy issued by Forte Insurance (Cambodia) Plc, which is the insurance institute, it said, adding that all inbound passengers' samples will be taken for PCR tests upon their appearance in the Southeast Asian country. 

 

 According to the statement, all visas must be requested at Cambodian delegacies abroad, as visas on appearance won't be offered. 

"The new counterblockade rules will take effect fromOct. 18, 2021 onwards, "Health Minister Mam Bunheng said in the statement. 

 

 Chhay Sivlin, chairman of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, on Sunday ate the new counterblockade policy, saying that it was a good sign for tourism assiduity, which had been hit hard by the epidemic. 

"It's good news for our tourism because a shorter counterblockade period will encourage investors, business people, and excursionists to come to Cambodia," she told Xinhua."With this new counterblockade policy, we hope our tourism will start to recover gradationally."

 

 The rearmost move came after the area has administered at least one cure of the COVID-19 vaccine to13.58 million people, or84.9 percent of its 16-million population, according to the MoH. 

Of them,12.54 million, or78.3 percent, have been completely invested with two needed shots, and1.36 million, or8.5 percent, have entered a third cure or supporter cure, the MoH said. 

 

 Cambodia reported 258 new verified cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total census to with deaths, including 24 new losses from the epidemic. 

A fresh 405 cases have recovered, taking the total number of reclamations from the coronavirus epidemic in the country to, said the MoH. Enditem
